Associate, Cap Vista

About the Role

Cap Vista is the venture investment arm of MINDEF. It works to bring in disruptive dual-use technologies by building strategic relationships with venture capital firms, innovation organisations, government bodies, and wider ecosystem partners. Its priority areas include cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, autonomy and robotics, sensors, networks, and communications.

In this associate role, you will help drive the adoption of emerging technologies from the startup world into the Defence Technology Community (DTC). The position offers exposure to fast-evolving domains such as spacetech, quantum, advanced manufacturing, synthetic biology, and AI/DA, while working closely with MINDEF stakeholders, DTC teammates, founders, and partners from organisations like Enterprise Singapore, the National Research Foundation, A*STAR, along with international trade and defence groups, venture builders, and corporate innovators.

What You Will Do

• Assist Cap Vista in shaping strategies and operating frameworks that help the organisation tap dual-use technologies and startup-led innovation.
• Partner with the Cap Vista team to uncover and convert commercial technologies into real business value, including technology- and operations-driven initiatives such as the Cap Vista Accelerator.
• Create approaches for harnessing technology to enable new capabilities.
• Evaluate technological solutions and clearly explain their value in the context of operational needs and concepts.

Education and Experience

• A degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required.
• Applicants should have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience working in partnerships across startups, venture capital, or deep-tech-related agencies.

• Genuine interest in startups and early-stage businesses, with the drive to quickly build capability in venture capital and grow a strong professional network.
• Strong enthusiasm for technology and innovation, plus the agility to learn across a range of technical fields.
