Role overview
In this position, you will drive revenue growth by identifying, engaging, and converting prospective customers within a defined territory. The role centers on opening new business, building strong commercial relationships, and selling services to technology vendors.
What you will do
- Generate new opportunities through prospecting, lead generation, cold calling, and by planning and delivering sales presentations.
- Hold meaningful outreach conversations with Vendor Services leaders in your assigned region to clearly connect the company’s offerings and value proposition to their needs.
- Meet and exceed assigned targets and performance expectations.
Product and service focus
The Vendor Services team, formerly known as SoftwareReviews, works directly with technology providers and sells three main lines of revenue-generating services.
- Vendor Advisory Memberships: These memberships give vendors access to Info-Tech analysts and marketing analysts who help them understand their market and buyers, improve products, and accelerate go-to-market efforts. Members also receive access to go-to-market analysts who deliver research and advisory support focused on core marketing processes and projects.
- Marketing Assets and Sales Enablement Material: Vendors can license platform-collected data and use it to create reports, infographics, social media assets, and other marketing-ready content. They can also license analyst research or involve analysts in thought leadership webinars and speaking engagements.
- Event Sales: Vendor booths and related opportunities are an important part of live and signature events. These offerings help support event costs and give members a way to connect with leading technology vendors across different domains. The team sells exhibitor space, speaking sessions at live events, and branding opportunities.
What is expected from you
- You should have a bachelor’s degree in any field. You may be asked to submit unofficial post-secondary transcripts with your application, along with your resume.
- You need at least 2 years of frontline sales experience, ideally in a fast-moving B2B sales environment, with a track record of consistently reaching sales goals.
- You should be intellectually curious and willing to keep learning about both the product and the customer so you can explain the value proposition effectively.
- You must communicate clearly and persuasively with internal stakeholders, external clients, and senior executives, while handling the full sales cycle confidently.
- You should be a strong active listener who can respond in ways that improve understanding and build rapport.
- You need to manage multiple complex sales activities with strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
- You should bring persistence and resilience to the sales process, using creativity and a solutions-oriented mindset to overcome setbacks and objections.
- You should be commercially aware and able to use business and technology insight to engage customers effectively.
- You need to be self-driven and aware of your strengths and areas for development.
- Experience in an advisory, information, or business services organization is considered an advantage.
