Role overview

The Commissioning Department is hiring a Carpenter to join the team and report directly to the Team Leader. The role focuses on joinery assembly and fitting work, with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability, and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and install joinery parts accurately.
• Interpret technical drawings and work from them confidently.
• Use hand and power tools such as grinders, jigsaws, drills, and similar equipment.
• Take ownership of your own output and remain accountable for the quality of your work.
• Maintain good timekeeping and attendance.

Qualifications and experience

• For internal team members, the role calls for NQF Level 2 (Grade 10) and/or an R&C competency certificate as a Carpenter.
• For external applicants, the minimum requirement is NQF Level 2 (Grade 10).
• NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) is preferred.
• You should have at least 2.5 years of relevant work experience.
• A Trade Certificate or NQF Level 4 National Certificate will be an added advantage.
• A strong attendance record and consistent punctuality are essential.
• The job requires flexibility to work across different shift patterns.
• You should be comfortable working in a team-based environment.
• A solid understanding of the company’s quality standards is important.
• Good verbal and written communication skills are needed.
