Cook III

About the role

This position is for a Cook III at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. It is a full-time, non-management role based onsite at the North Corniche location. The role sits within the Food and Beverage & Culinary function.

What you will do

• Get ingredients ready for cooking by portioning, cutting, and storing them correctly.
• Wash and peel fresh produce such as fruits and vegetables.
• Measure, weigh, and combine ingredients as required by recipes and production needs.
• Cook dishes in line with recipe instructions, quality benchmarks, presentation expectations, and food prep checklists.
• Prepare cold food items as needed.
• Use kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely and effectively.
• Check food during cooking to make sure it is properly done.
• Keep an eye on food quality throughout the preparation process.
• Set up the work area before service and restore it after use.
• Plate and portion food into the correct serving containers.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Verify that appliance and food temperatures meet required standards.

• Report repair needs, incidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a neat, professional uniform and personal appearance.

• Listen carefully and respond appropriately to concerns raised by other employees.

• Be prepared for long periods of standing, sitting, or walking during a shift.
• Perform physical movements such as bending, twisting, reaching, pulling, and stooping as needed.
• Handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Take on other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Education and experience

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. The role calls for at least 1 year of relevant work experience and does not require prior supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
