Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Customs Broker in West Midlands. The selected candidate will manage customs clearance activities for both inbound and outbound cargo, work to ensure adherence to customs legislation, and coordinate with clients, carriers, and relevant authorities where required.

What You Will Do

Handle customs clearance arrangements for incoming and outgoing shipments.
Prepare and process the documents needed for customs clearance.
Work in line with applicable customs rules, procedures, and compliance standards.
Communicate with clients, transport partners, and government or customs officials as needed.
Support smooth shipment movement by resolving customs-related issues quickly and accurately.

Candidate Profile

The role calls for someone with customs brokerage or a closely related freight-industry background. The ideal person should be familiar with brokerage systems and related technology, understand customs regulations well, and bring strong communication skills, relationship-building ability, and a careful, deadline-driven working style.

Qualifications

Previous experience working as a customs broker or in a similar freight-sector position.
Working knowledge of customs brokerage software and associated tools.
Strong understanding of customs laws and procedures, along with experience completing clearance documentation.
Good communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and develop client relationships.
High attention to detail, plus the ability to stay effective under pressure and meet timelines.
