Role overview
Integration Innovation, Inc. (i3) is hiring a Data Analyst to support the Missile Defense Agency Information Management and Software Services (AIMSS) effort. The role contributes to the development of a layered Missile Defense System by turning data into actionable insight that helps leaders make informed, evidence-based decisions. The position is based at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.
What you'll do
- Collect, validate, and review data within required timelines and quality standards.
- Help resolve technical and administrative issues related to data access, collection, and sharing.
- Use data collection tools to examine reports and system outputs for completeness and accuracy across structured and unstructured sources.
- Apply statistical and analytical methods to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in RDT&E datasets.
- Pull specific data elements from databases and information systems using tools such as SQL, R, or Python.
- Carry out occasional ad hoc analyses for leadership.
- Gather information from databases, spreadsheets, APIs, and external datasets to support program needs.
- Clean and prepare raw data so it is accurate, consistent, complete, and ready for analysis.
- Use descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, and correlation analysis to uncover insights from operational data.
- Build charts, graphs, dashboards, and other visuals to present findings clearly.
- Explain complex results in a clear way for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Produce recurring and one-time reports on trends, issues, and key performance indicators.
- Share findings and recommendations in leadership briefings and decision-making forums.
- Verify that analytical outputs are statistically reliable.
- Track data over time and identify unusual changes or deviations from expected patterns.
- Create or configure basic alerts and triggers for threshold breaches or abnormal behavior.
- Support mission-focused problem solving with evidence-based analysis.
- Assist program staff and analysts with insights that support execution and strategic planning.
- Follow data governance requirements and comply with applicable classification and privacy rules.
- Handle, label, and document sensitive or classified data appropriately.
- Record data sources, transformation steps, analytical methods, and assumptions so work can be reproduced.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Required background
- A bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required; relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
- Junior level: bachelor’s degree plus 0-5 years of relevant experience.
- Mid level: bachelor’s degree plus 6-11 years of relevant experience.
- Senior level: bachelor’s degree plus 12 or more years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience supporting a government organization is preferred.
- An active Secret clearance is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Applicants must live within 50 miles of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL, or be willing to relocate before starting.
- Ability to commute to the office as business needs require.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
Skills and knowledge
- Working knowledge of at least one analytics language or tool, such as SQL, Python, or R.
- Experience building dashboards and visual reports with Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of core statistical methods and data integrity principles.
- Familiarity with office administration practices and procedures.
- Strong judgment and relationship management ability.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, along with teamwork and client service strengths.
Working conditions
Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, although occasional extra hours may be needed. Attendance must be consistent and punctual. Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, reaching, and handling objects; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Vision needs include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment abilities.
