Role overview

A financial services organization in West Houston is seeking a Data Analyst for a long-term contract position. The role follows a hybrid work pattern, with four days onsite and one day working from home. This opportunity is well suited to an early-career professional with 2 to 5 years of experience who enjoys analytics, business intelligence, and newer technologies such as AI and automation.

You will partner with business stakeholders to build reporting solutions, improve workflows, and provide insights that help shape both day-to-day operations and broader strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Create, update, and support interactive dashboards, reports, and visual outputs in Power BI.
• Bring together and reshape data from multiple SaaS tools and business applications to produce useful insights.
• Distribute and administer reporting products through enterprise tools such as SharePoint and internal web portals.
• Work with advanced Excel methods, including formulas and data modeling, to analyze business data.
• Partner with analysts, managers, and operational teams to understand business issues and build practical solutions.
• Help maintain, administer, and continuously enhance business intelligence and automation tools.
• Look for opportunities to reduce manual work through automation and process improvement.
• Support the rollout of AI, automation, and intelligent workflows across the company.
• Provide training, documentation, and end-user support to encourage successful adoption of new solutions.
• Handle several priorities at once, balancing immediate operational support with longer-term project work.

Required experience and qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, analytics, or automation-oriented roles.
• Strong Power BI capability, including dashboard creation, data visualization, and report publishing.
• Experience combining data from multiple sources, including SaaS platforms.
• Ability to manage and share enterprise reporting solutions.
• Strong technical curiosity and the ability to learn new tools and platforms quickly.
• Prior experience supporting or administering important reporting or technology solutions.
• Clear communication skills with the ability to translate technical ideas for non-technical audiences.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and a mindset focused on building better solutions.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where priorities may change.

Preferred experience

• Advanced Excel knowledge, including complex formulas, reporting, and data analysis.
• Hands-on exposure to SharePoint and/or PowerApps, especially for workflow automation and conditional logic.
• Familiarity with AI tools, large language models, or automation technologies.
• Understanding of system integration and secure enterprise technology environments.
• Experience managing multiple competing priorities across both operations and projects.
