Design Manager

Role Overview

Nabina Group in Doha is looking for an accomplished Design Manager to head its design function and guide the delivery of projects across residential, commercial, hospitality, fit-out, kitchen, wardrobe, and interior solution assignments. The position suits a driven design professional who can combine team leadership, technical depth, and project coordination to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The selected candidate will work with a growing organization involved in building materials, interior solutions, and contracting services, and will contribute to projects that demand both creative thinking and disciplined execution.

Design Leadership and Team Management

• Direct, coach, and supervise architects, interior designers, and technical team members.
• Evaluate and sign off on design concepts, drawings, and project outputs.
• Set and maintain design benchmarks to keep work consistent across assignments.
• Encourage innovation and a high standard of creative delivery within the team.

Project Oversight

• Manage projects from the initial concept stage through documentation and on-site execution.
• Prepare schedules and track design milestones to keep deliveries on time.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams as needed.
• Make sure solutions remain aligned with scope, budget, and timeline targets.

Technical Design Development

• Assess architectural and interior drawings, specifications, and material choices.
• Ensure all work follows applicable local rules and industry practices.
• Handle design and technical issues that arise during development and implementation.
• Check drawing accuracy and maintain strong documentation quality.

Site and Client Coordination

• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design review sessions.
• Visit project sites and work with delivery teams to confirm design intent is being followed.
• Review shop drawings, material samples, and mock-ups.
• Verify that the finished work reflects the approved design direction.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a closely related discipline, along with at least 5 years of experience in architecture, interior design, or design management. A minimum of 2 years should be in a Design Manager or Senior Design Lead capacity.

Strong experience in leading multidisciplinary design teams is important, as is a solid grasp of design development, technical detailing, and project coordination. Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D visualization platforms is required, while Revit knowledge will be considered an added advantage.

Applicants must bring strong leadership, communication, and presentation abilities, and should be capable of handling several projects at the same time. The role is open only to candidates currently based in Qatar. A valid Qatar driving license is mandatory, and preference will be given to those who have NOC for transfer.

Preferred Background

• Prior experience in fit-out, interiors, kitchens, wardrobes, commercial, hospitality, or residential projects.
• Understanding of local authority procedures and approval requirements in Qatar.
• Good knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and project execution methods.
