About the Role
As a Dishwasher at Surfside #60, you will help keep the restaurant clean, sanitized, and presentable at all times. This role is essential to maintaining a tidy dining and kitchen environment and ensuring all dishware, utensils, and equipment meet the company’s cleanliness standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow the company’s safety rules, sanitation procedures, and related training.
- Wash, clean, and sanitize plateware, glassware, silverware, cookware, and kitchen tools according to company standards.
- Keep sanitation tasks going throughout the entire shift.
- Maintain a clean kitchen by sweeping, mopping, and clearing debris from floors and work areas.
- Handle assigned prep tasks, opening and closing duties, and general beautification work.
- Set up, monitor, and shut down the dishwashing machine at the start, during service, and at closing.
- Support other team members whenever assistance is needed.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for the full shift.
- Must be able to reach, bend, and stoop as required.
- Frequent contact with water mixed with chemical cleaning solutions is expected.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs several times during a shift, including moving items to high shelves, coolers, and freezers.
- Work may involve damp conditions and high indoor temperatures, with occasional minimal outdoor exposure.
- Must handle hot plates, pots, and pans safely.
- Must work carefully around sharp knives and utensils.
Requirements
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Completion and passing of the food safety certification program, in line with Flanigan’s requirements and Florida law.
