Role overview

As an E-commerce Category Manager for Austria, you will be accountable for the market’s commercial performance from end to end. Your remit will include shaping the category direction, supporting growth, and influencing the customer journey. You will play an important part in the wider E-Commerce Europe organization and contribute to initiatives that span multiple countries and functions, while working closely with senior leaders.

What you will do

  • Take ownership of the product category P&L in Austria, with a strong focus on profitable growth and improving margins.
  • Build and implement the category strategy for one of the core categories—Mattresses, Beds, or Accessories—by tailoring the global assortment to the Austrian market and identifying new segment opportunities.
  • Lead pricing activities across channels and products to strengthen revenue and margin performance.
  • Drive go-to-market execution for new product launches in Austria together with Global Product Success, Sourcing, Marketing, and UX teams.
  • Coordinate the full product lifecycle, including phase-ins and phase-outs, to keep the portfolio evolving efficiently and at the right time.
  • Plan campaigns and commercial activities with the marketing counterpart to ensure a strong and effective promotional calendar.
  • Work with the regional webshop team to lift digital conversion and improve category presentation online.
  • Partner with Operations and Sourcing to enhance cost structure and supply performance in the Austrian market.

Profile sought

You should bring a strategic and analytical approach, strong commercial judgment, and a clear ownership mindset. The role suits someone who is comfortable making decisions, spotting growth opportunities early, and coordinating across functions in a fast-moving environment.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marketing, Economics, Business, or E-commerce.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Category Management, Business Strategy, or Consulting, preferably in e-commerce, retail, or consumer goods.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a P&L or making a significant contribution to commercial results.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking with solid understanding of pricing, margin drivers, and portfolio management.
  • A proactive business-owner mindset with the ability to take responsibility and pursue growth opportunities independently.
  • Proven ability to execute across functions, coordinate dependencies, and maintain high standards of delivery.
  • Comfort working in uncertain or ambiguous situations within a scaling business.
  • Excellent English and German communication skills.

Benefits and perks

  • Pet-friendly workplace, so you can bring your dog or other furry companion to work.
  • Discounts on the company’s products.
  • 25 vacation days per year, plus 1 additional day per year of service at Emma, up to a maximum of 30 days.
  • Exposure to multinational teams and international collaboration.
