Role Summary
Retrokid is looking for a strategic, analytical, and execution-focused Ecommerce Manager to own and grow its direct-to-consumer Shopify business. Reporting to the Marketing Director, this position is responsible for the full ecommerce journey, including storefront planning, daily platform operations, performance improvement, customer experience, and revenue growth.
This role serves as a key link between Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, IT, and outside partners to ensure the online customer experience is smooth, high-converting, and aligned with business goals.
What You’ll Do
- Set and drive the ecommerce plan to support targets for traffic, conversion, and revenue.
- Oversee daily Shopify operations, including uptime, speed, mobile performance, and site usability.
- Guide storefront layout, product setup and migration, site structure, and navigation enhancements.
- Confirm that integrations, tools, and workflows remain reliable, scalable, and business-aligned.
- Keep product information, pricing, categorization, and merchandising standards accurate and up to date.
- Build merchandising approaches that lift conversion, average order value, and profitability.
- Manage product mix, pricing, promotions, and seasonal campaigns in line with brand direction.
- Improve the customer path from landing page to checkout using UX/UI best practices.
- Run A/B tests and use tactics such as personalization, bundling, and upselling to improve results.
- Maintain strong storytelling, high-quality content, and SEO across the site.
- Own core ecommerce KPIs, including conversion rate, traffic, AOV, ROAS, CAC, LTV, return rate, and profitability.
- Review performance data and turn findings into practical actions.
- Create and maintain weekly and monthly dashboards and reporting.
- Diagnose performance issues and apply data-led improvements.
- Work with Marketing to support traffic, acquisition, and retention efforts across SEO, SEM, paid media, email, SMS, and affiliate channels.
- Coordinate with performance marketing agencies and other external partners to improve ROI and campaign outcomes.
- Plan and launch product releases, promotional campaigns, and online-only initiatives.
- Test new growth ideas such as subscriptions, bundles, and new channel opportunities.
- Continuously improve the end-to-end digital customer experience.
- Introduce tools such as chat, loyalty programs, and personalization engines to strengthen engagement and retention.
- Partner with customer experience teams to track feedback and resolve issues.
- Support omnichannel efforts so the online and offline journey work together seamlessly.
- Collaborate with Operations and Logistics to maintain inventory accuracy, product availability, and efficient fulfillment.
- Forecast sales and assist with SKU-level planning to match inventory to demand.
- Improve return and exchange workflows.
- Partner with Finance on reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and ecommerce P&L management.
- Work closely with internal teams to execute campaigns and cross-functional initiatives.
- Manage outside vendors, agencies, and freelancers supporting development, CRM, and marketing.
- Lead projects, document processes, and help ensure consistent execution across workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Ecommerce, or a related discipline.
- At least 4–6+ years of ecommerce experience, ideally with Shopify or Shopify Plus.
- Demonstrated ability to drive DTC growth, conversion improvement, and revenue performance.
- Strong Shopify knowledge, including backend operations, apps, integrations, and troubleshooting.
- Experience using analytics platforms such as GA4 and BI tools like Looker.
- Exposure to HTML, CSS, and Liquid is considered an advantage.
- Experience with ecommerce tools for email, SMS, loyalty, and A/B testing.
- Strategic thinker who can also execute work hands-on.
- Solid understanding of UX/UI, CRO, SEO, and digital merchandising.
- Data-focused approach with the ability to convert insights into action.
- Excellent planning, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Customer-first mindset with strong awareness of online consumer behavior and trends.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment.
- Ability to address urgent issues and crises outside standard business hours.
- Willingness to travel to Pickering, Ontario at least three days per week.

Additional Information
