Job Overview

This remote contract opportunity is for an Excel specialist who can support the training of next-generation AI systems with high-quality, practical expertise. The role focuses on using real-world Excel knowledge to help models improve in reasoning, judgment, and performance. No prior background in AI is needed; strong domain expertise is the key requirement.

What You’ll Do

• Examine, interpret, and improve complex Excel workbooks used in business operations, strategic planning, and data analysis.
• Share practical feedback and demonstrate effective Excel methods for operational and consulting scenarios, excluding finance-related use cases.
• Build, record, and provide reusable templates or solutions that can be used for AI training.
• Work with the client team to map important workflows and identify operational issues reflected in spreadsheet documents.
• Assess business situations and recreate them with advanced Excel formulas and features.
• Prepare accurate documentation and communicate clearly in both written and spoken form.
• Help develop case studies and operational examples that use Excel-based analysis.

Skills and Experience Needed

• Advanced command of Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and automation features.
• Hands-on experience creating Excel solutions for business operations, strategy, or consulting work.
• Strong analytical ability and experience solving non-financial business problems with spreadsheets.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to document procedures, create guidance material, and deliver clear, actionable feedback.
• Experience with data analysis, scenario building, and process improvement in Excel.
• Comfort working independently and managing tasks proactively in a remote environment.

Preferred Background

A background in business operations, strategy, or management consulting is preferred. Experience contributing to AI training or machine learning datasets in a domain expert role is also useful, along with building Excel-based dashboards or tools for operational improvement.
