Role overview

We are hiring a General Operator to become part of Kerry’s team in Carrigaline, County Cork. This is a permanent, full-time position, primarily based in the warehouse.

Work pattern

The role follows 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 7:00, with day and night rotation. The schedule is typically 3 or 4 shifts each week.

Location

You will work at Kerry’s Carrigaline site, where enzymes and brewing ingredients are produced and distributed for customers around the world. The site is set in a quiet, green area and is close to a bus station, with the journey from Cork city taking around 30 minutes.

Key duties

The role involves supporting warehouse and production support activities, inventory control, shipping and receiving, safety, and GMP compliance.

Responsibilities

• Handle manufacturing orders from start to finish, including picking, assembling, and staging materials for production, along with goods-in processing, sampling, and SAP entries.
• Assist with stock control by carrying out weekly cycle counts, reconciling inventory in SAP, and managing the receipt and dispatch of materials and finished goods.
• Support packaging and outbound movement tasks such as shrink-wrapping, labelling, and liaising with third-party warehouse providers.
• Work safely in an environment with regular forklift and pallet traffic, while actively contributing to safety improvements and audits.
• Maintain GMP standards, tidiness, and accurate records across warehouse and cold storage areas.
• Step in to cover other warehouse duties during holiday periods as needed.

Requirements

• Previous warehouse experience is necessary, ideally gained in food manufacturing.
• A valid forklift truck certificate and hands-on forklift operating experience are essential.
• Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office is useful.
• A Leaving Certificate or an equivalent qualification is required.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are important.
• Good organisational skills are needed.
• You should be proactive, energetic, and comfortable working independently as well as with others.
• Willingness to move between different departments on site is expected.
