About the Role
The InterContinental Sorrento Mornington Peninsula is seeking a practical, detail-focused Handyperson to support the hotel’s maintenance team. In this role, you will help keep the property operating efficiently and looking its best by handling everyday repairs as well as planned preventative maintenance. Your work will cover guest rooms, common areas, lighting, and other facilities across the precinct, with an emphasis on safe, reliable, high-quality upkeep.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out small repairs, replacements, and refurbishments across the hotel.
- Supporting preventative maintenance activities for equipment and facilities to keep everything working effectively.
- Looking after the safety and cleanliness of indoor and outdoor areas within the precinct.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year of experience in maintenance or repair work.
- Strong general knowledge of maintenance practices, ideally gained in hotels, resorts, or similar environments such as hospitals, schools, aged care, or shopping centres.
- Hands-on exposure to any of the following would be an advantage: air conditioning, door lock systems, painting, tiling, plumbing, and general furniture repairs.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues across different departments.
- A consistent commitment to high standards of workmanship and presentation.
- Well-developed organisational skills and strong grooming standards.
- Availability to work on a 7-day roster, including evenings, weekends, public holidays, and later finishes up to 7:00pm.
