Head of Program Management

Overview

An early-stage startup in New York is hiring a Head of Program Management to own high-priority initiatives, keep complex workstreams moving, and make sure strategic programs are delivered on schedule. This role is suited to someone who thrives on structure, follow-through, and cross-functional coordination.

What You’ll Do

• Own and scale the organization’s program management practice.
• Turn strategic priorities into clear plans and execution milestones.
• Set up practical frameworks, processes, and operating standards for program delivery.
• Bring together teams across Engineering, Product, Sales, and other functions to move work forward.
• Monitor schedules, interdependencies, and delivery risks, and course-correct as needed.
• Provide regular updates on program status and outcomes to company leadership.
• Strengthen operational discipline and improve how teams execute.
• Keep stakeholders aligned on goals, timelines, and responsibilities.

Experience & Requirements

• 8 to 12 years of experience in program management or project management.
• Hands-on experience leading complex initiatives that involve multiple teams and functions.
• Strong planning, organization, and communication abilities.
• A track record of getting things done in fast-moving environments.
• Familiarity with program management tools, frameworks, and delivery methods.

Nice to Have

• PMP, Scrum, or Agile certification.
• Background in technology or product-led organizations.
• Experience working closely with engineering and product teams.
