About the role

This Hire Controller position is based in the Manchester depot and sits at the heart of day-to-day operations, combining customer service, sales support, and coordination work.

The role is centred on managing the full hire journey, from order placement through to delivery and collection. You will work closely with teams across the depot to make sure customers receive the right equipment on time and leave with a positive service experience.

This is a desk-based position with regular contact across internal teams, including stock staff, drivers, and engineers, to minimise delays and keep equipment flowing efficiently to customers.

Working pattern

Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 17:00, with a 42-hour working week.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate the end-to-end hire process from order receipt through delivery and collection.
  • Work alongside depot colleagues to ensure customer requirements are met quickly and accurately.
  • Maintain regular communication with stock teams, drivers, and engineers to reduce delays.
  • Support sales and customer service activity from the depot floor and office base.
  • Build effective working relationships to help deliver a smooth and reliable customer experience.
  • Contribute to the wider team’s ability to support the business unit’s ESG strategy, Decade to Deliver.
