About the organisation

Role overview
This is a permanent, full-time Inspector position that can be based in either Perth or Adelaide. The role sits within a team handling investigations into alleged criminal offences under the National Law.
What you will do
You will oversee your own portfolio of matters, plan and carry out investigations, speak with witnesses and suspects, gather and review evidence, and prepare clear reports and recommendations.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate is confident dealing with complex and sensitive investigations, applying legislation, collaborating with a range of stakeholders, and producing strong written reports.
Qualifications and experience
Ideally, you will hold a Certificate IV in Government Investigations or have equivalent practical experience. You should also have a background in criminal or regulatory investigations, along with experience interviewing people, recording statements, and managing evidence.
Strong analytical ability, written and verbal communication skills, and the capacity to handle a large administrative workload, multiple priorities, and tight deadlines are important for success in this role.
What we offer
- A flexible working setup with a 50/50 split between office and home.
- A supportive workplace culture with an active social club.
- Discounted health insurance through Medibank Private and reduced gym membership options.
- Open-plan workspaces in a central, 5-star rated building.
- An annual salary of $118,551 plus superannuation.
Application requirements
Your application should include a current resume and a cover letter of no more than two pages. The cover letter must address your experience conducting interviews and taking witness statements, your background in criminal or regulatory investigations, and why you want to work in the Criminal Offences and Litigation Unit.
Eligibility and conditions
Applicants must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a valid work permit or visa. Work eligibility will be verified during recruitment. Employment is subject to successful background screening and criminal history checks.
