Allied Universal is hiring for janitorial support through its maintenance services team in St Augustine, Florida. Work Schedule and Pay

• This opening is available for both part-time and full-time arrangements.
• Workdays are Monday through Friday.
• Shift options are in the afternoon: 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
• The pay rate is $15 per hour.
• Pay is issued weekly.

Role Summary

The janitor will be responsible for general cleaning and preservation duties across a designated area inside one building or across multiple client locations. The exact assignment can vary, so the person in this role must be adaptable and ready to carry out cleaning tasks according to each client’s requirements.

Responsibilities

• Keep floor areas clean by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming as needed.
• Use chemical cleaning products and powered equipment correctly to avoid damaging floors or other surfaces.
• Service restrooms, meeting rooms, corridors, and entry areas to maintain a clean environment.
• Remove waste from trash containers and dispose of it properly, including use of a compactor when required.
• Wash windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors with the proper tools and cleaners.
• Perform spot cleaning on carpets and support carpet shampooing and extraction work.
• Restock paper goods and sanitary items.
• Work in line with the established housekeeping schedule.
• Operate heavier cleaning tools from time to time, including floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers.
• Complete additional tasks that fall within the scope of work or respond to customer needs.

Qualifications

Applicants should have either a high school diploma or equivalent, or at least six months of prior experience in a janitorial role. Training will be provided on the job. The position calls for strong attention to detail and the ability to follow directions well.

Preferred Background

Experience in cleaning or custodial work is helpful, along with familiarity with commercial cleaning standards and floor care methods such as buffing and waxing. Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance is also an advantage.
