Junior Data Engineer

Role overview

We are looking for a junior-level data engineer to help support the upkeep, enhancement, and day-to-day operation of an overseas data warehouse serving mobile device, IoT, and app data domains. The role focuses on turning raw information into reliable datasets, useful insights, and practical analytics outputs for regional business needs.

What you will do

• Assist with the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the overseas data warehouse.
• Design and implement data-processing solutions and analytics applications that convert raw data into actionable business insight.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using data-focused programming languages such as Python and SQL.
• Use foundational data modeling and data mining approaches to work with both structured and semi-structured data.
• Support analysis of large datasets to help inform overseas business operations.
• Prepare visual dashboards and straightforward reports with BI or visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver analytics support.
• Contribute to testing, release, and monitoring activities for data pipelines and workflows.

What we are looking for

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a closely related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, or a similar function.
• Comfort with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Flink.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Understanding of data modeling principles and data warehousing fundamentals.
• Exposure to dashboarding or data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Basic familiarity with data mining or machine learning ideas is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to communicate in both Mandarin and English to coordinate with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, teams, and business partners across regional markets.
