Overview
This role is based at the Derby Mickleover Hotel, part of the Signature Collection by Best Western. It is a hands-on kitchen support position for someone who is dependable, energetic, and comfortable working in a busy hospitality environment.
What you will do
- Keep the kitchen clean, hygienic, and well organised throughout service.
- Wash dishes, pans, pots, utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
- Clear waste, sort recycling, and maintain tidy floors and surfaces.
- Support chefs with simple prep tasks such as peeling and chopping vegetables.
- Accept food and supply deliveries and place them into storage correctly.
- Follow food hygiene and safety procedures at all times.
- Help prepare the kitchen at the start of service and close it down afterwards.
- Assist with cleaning cookery equipment and work areas.
- Work closely with the wider kitchen team to keep operations running smoothly.
- Raise any maintenance, health, or safety concerns with the appropriate person.
