Laundry Attendant

Role Overview

This position sits within the housekeeping and laundry function at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. It is a full-time, non-management role based on-site.

What You Will Do

You will handle day-to-day laundry operations, including running washing, dry-cleaning, and drying equipment, adding the required chemicals, and keeping lint traps and related components clean. The role also involves checking articles for stains or damage and deciding whether each item needs repair, spot treatment, another wash cycle, or disposal.

You will examine cleaned linens and garments after processing, place them into clean linen carts, and set dryers according to the fabric type, temperature, and time needed. In addition, you will remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry-cleaning filters, and drain traps after every load, then fold cleaned items by hand or with a folding machine and maintain accurate laundering records.

The job requires following all company safety and security procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and completing any required safety training or certifications. You will also be expected to follow company policies, maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect confidential information, and safeguard company assets.

You should be able to build positive working relationships, support coworkers in meeting shared goals, and respond appropriately to concerns raised by other employees. You are also expected to uphold quality standards and look for ways to improve efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Physical Requirements

The role involves visually checking equipment for defects and spending long periods standing, sitting, or walking during a shift. You must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. The work may also require moving through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, navigating stairs or service ramps, and reaching overhead or below the knees while bending, twisting, pulling, or stooping.

Preferred Qualifications

No high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. There is also no previous related work experience, no supervisory experience, and no license or certification requirement for this role.
