Role overview

This position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara in Doha, Qatar. The role sits within Minor Hotels’ wider international portfolio, which spans more than 530 properties across 50+ countries in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America.

Core purpose of the job

The lifeguard is responsible for maintaining the safety of guests and colleagues in the designated swimming areas during the resort’s published operating hours.

Key duties

• Monitor swimming areas and act quickly to protect swimmers and nearby associates.
• Keep all required lifesaving and first-aid equipment arranged and ready for use around the pool and shoreline, including flotation devices, the rescue boat, and the first-aid kit.
• Ensure the correct warning flag is displayed during operating hours.
• Make sure pool information is visibly posted, such as business hours, pool depth, and water and air temperatures.
• Respond to emergencies anywhere in the hotel or resort swimming zones and ensure rescue equipment remains available at all times.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned from time to time.

Qualification and experience

Candidates should hold a valid lifeguard certification and be authorized to perform AR and CPR. The role requires 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in the same field, strong English communication skills, a presentable personality, and the ability to remain effective under pressure while handling multiple tasks.
