Role overview
Belgravia Leisure is looking to expand the lifeguard team at the Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre in Moree, New South Wales, as new pools prepare to open. This role is focused on keeping the pool environment safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for all visitors, while supporting the day-to-day running of the facility.
Both reliable attitude and enthusiasm for the industry matter here. No prior experience is required, and the organisation is open to helping the right candidate gain the necessary qualifications.
The position is based at Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre, Moree 2400, NSW.
What the role involves
- Supporting daily pool operations across the aquatic facility.
- Maintaining a safe environment in and around all pool areas.
- Delivering friendly, customer-focused service to patrons.
- Working with people of different ages, backgrounds, abilities, and needs.
- Being available for weekend shifts, after-school shifts, mornings, and evenings.
Skills and experience
- Clear and confident verbal communication.
- Working knowledge of workplace health and safety and public safety practices.
- Ability to perform well both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfort working with students and patrons from diverse groups.
- Energy, reliability, and a positive, outgoing approach.
- Strong focus on safety and service quality.
- Prior experience in a similar role is helpful but not mandatory.
Qualifications and checks
- Current First Aid Level 2 certificate and current CPR certificate are required.
- National Police Check is required.
- Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate is preferred.
- If you do not yet hold the required certificates, you must be willing to obtain them.
- Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
- A Working With Children check will also be required for successful candidates.
Training and development
Candidates who are interested in becoming a swim teacher but do not yet have the teaching qualification are encouraged to apply. Support may be provided through Belgravia Academy, and applicants should mention this in their cover letter.
