About the role
This position plays a key part in keeping aircraft maintenance organized, compliant, and on schedule. The planner works closely with Operations Control, Materials, Engineering, Maintenance Programs, and other support teams to make sure FAA-approved maintenance requirements are planned within the required compliance windows. The role is centered on coordinating manpower, tooling, and materials so scheduled work can be completed efficiently and with minimal disruption.
Key responsibilities
- Build routine and non-routine maintenance work orders for line and heavy maintenance events.
- Generate scheduled maintenance forecast reports for upcoming work reviews.
- Coordinate upcoming maintenance needs with tooling, materials, quality control, engineering, and line maintenance teams.
- Work with each maintenance location to align capability, manpower availability, and ground time requirements for assigned work.
- Plan time-controlled items and line tasks so they are completed on time within the approved maintenance program.
- Help reduce aircraft downtime and support reliability by adjusting maintenance plans to operational changes.
- Partner with Maintenance Programs on future changes and improvements to help control costs and reduce network constraints.
- Prepare heavy maintenance visit schedules for the fleet, including pre-dock calls and inductions.
- Create reports as assigned.

- Carry out additional duties as needed to support operational objectives.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in maintenance planning or a related field such as line or hangar maintenance, or maintenance control, within a FAR Part 121 operation.
- Good understanding of FAA rules, including FAR Part 121 operations.
- Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs and aircraft routing.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Willingness to work with other departments as required.
- Ability to perform well under pressure, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly.
- Self-driven mindset, positive attitude, and a strong desire to succeed.
- Preferred: a 4-year degree in Aerospace, Aviation Maintenance, or Business.
- Preferred: valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
- Preferred: familiarity with an airline Maintenance Information System such as TRAX.
