Role overview

Dornan is hiring a Mechanical AP for a project based in Cork, County Cork, Ireland. The company is a major Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation contractor delivering work across Ireland, Mainland Europe, the Nordics, and the UK.

What you will do

• Issue, maintain, and oversee lockout/tagout permits.
• Plan isolation activities and carry out both isolations and their removal.
• Review and approve energisation requests.
• Coordinate subcontractors and the site personnel needed for the work.
• Take part in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and project teams, providing support on mechanical delivery matters.
• Help maintain a safe working environment on site.
• Take responsibility for enrolment of Authorised Persons and for applying Dornan COHE requirements.
• Make sure all required certificates and reports for completed mechanical work are issued to GDP standards.
• Ensure employees, subcontractors, and third parties receive the correct information, instruction, training, and supervision in relation to Dornan COHE.
• Oversee mechanical safety systems, including LOTO.
• Support the team in preparing as-built records and the Health & Safety File.
• Assist with quality control inspections of mechanical systems.
• Handle other reasonable duties assigned by management from time to time.

What we are looking for

• At least 10 years of experience in a comparable position.
• Strong working knowledge of the Authorised Person function.
• Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Commercial awareness and business understanding.
• Ability to recognise the strengths and weaknesses of the team.
