Role Overview

This is a behind-the-scenes position for someone who enjoys active, hands-on work in a busy store setting. The role involves keeping merchandise moving through the process efficiently, supporting the sales floor, and helping customers have a positive shopping experience. A dependable attitude, professionalism, and willingness to help wherever needed are key.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $17.60.

Availability Requirements

Applicants must be available to work weekends, holidays, and closing shifts. The schedule can include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Duties

Daily work centers on processing donated merchandise and keeping the store organized and ready for customers.

• Review, sort, mark, grade, and price incoming items according to company standards.
• Hang and arrange products by category, size, and colour on rolling racks.
• Assist with donation handling, floor resets, inventory replenishment, and preparation for sale events.
• Carry out routine sorting, tagging, and rack organization to keep merchandise flowing steadily.
• Use bin labels accurately and follow colour-tag rotation practices to keep inventory current.
• Maintain speed while still meeting quality expectations.
• Keep the processing area tidy, safe, and free from hazards.
• Follow all PPE, lifting, and safety procedures.
• Report hazards or incidents and help ensure safe access in work areas.
• Participate in daily team check-ins, communicate with colleagues and leaders, and contribute to shared goals.
• Support general housekeeping and help maintain a respectful, efficient workplace.

What You Bring

The right candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable in a fast-paced hands-on environment, and able to communicate clearly and respectfully. A team-first attitude and consistency in day-to-day work are important.

Additional Strengths

Prior experience in warehouse operations, inventory handling, or back-of-house retail is helpful. Familiarity with thrift or second-hand goods and basic condition assessment is also an asset, as is comfort using personal protective equipment and following basic health and safety routines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, and moving throughout the shift. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push or pull rolling containers weighing up to 500 lbs. The environment may include dust, dirt, insects, garbage, occasional rodents, noise, and changing temperatures. There will also be regular interaction with customers and the public.
