Role overview
This opportunity is for an experienced production planner/scheduler to join a global manufacturer of specialty materials in County Clare, Ireland. The position plays a central role in aligning demand, supply, inventory, and production flow while working in a fast-moving environment with frequent schedule and forecast changes. What the role involves
- Build and maintain production plans for the plant, along with raw material purchasing schedules.
- Work closely with corporate purchasing teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to keep materials available on time.
- Review customer demand forecasts and translate them into capacity plans.
- Assist with new product introduction by supporting material planning and RFQ activities.
- Track inventory performance and improve stock health using reports, metrics, and MRP tools.
- Contribute to improvement programs such as Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM.
- Help ensure compliance with EHS, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Take part in cross-functional work covering projects, change control, and supplier performance reviews.
What they are looking for
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- APICS certification would be an advantage, though it is not mandatory.
- At least 4 years of experience in production scheduling, planning, material planning, or purchasing.
- Hands-on knowledge of SAP and supply chain or procurement processes.
- Understanding of EHS requirements and quality standards.
- Exposure to continuous improvement methods and tools is a plus.
