This group works collaboratively to produce persuasive, compliant submissions that represent the company’s capabilities and value proposition.
Role Summary
As a Proposal Writer, you will manage the full proposal lifecycle, beginning with receipt of an RFP and continuing through final delivery. You will partner with sales, subject matter experts, and corporate teams such as legal, finance, marketing, and HR to create tailored content that aligns with client expectations and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the complete proposal process from initial RFP intake and compliance review to final submission through email, a web portal, or physical delivery.
- Prepare strong responses to RFX and similar solicitation requests, ensuring the final proposal reflects both the client’s needs and TELUS Health’s strengths.
- Build proposal structures, compliance trackers, templates, and supporting content such as biographies, resumes, certifications, references, and project qualifications.
- Draft customised answers to customer questions, incorporating win themes and presenting information in a clear and persuasive manner.
- Coordinate day-to-day proposal operations, including data call tracking, assignment of tasks, draft review, and deadline management.
- Run proposal review sessions such as pink, red, and gold reviews while integrating stakeholder input and maintaining compliance with RFX and WPO requirements.
- Work with SAM leads, SMEs, and internal teams across Legal, Finance, HR, and Marketing to collect inputs, strengthen messaging, and shape win strategies.
- Complete close-out actions after submission, including debrief discussions, client feedback collection, and lessons-learned documentation for future improvement.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline, or at least 3 years of equivalent professional experience.
- At least 2 years of background in proposal writing, including experience handling several proposals at the same time.
- Proven ability to collaborate with SMEs and internal stakeholders to develop technical and management-focused content.
- Strong writing and editing ability with a sharp eye for detail and the capacity to deliver under tight timelines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with an understanding of document presentation and marketing fundamentals.
- Good project management capability, with the ability to set priorities, establish deadlines, and keep complex workstreams moving.
- A practical, solution-oriented approach suited to high-pressure, fast-moving environments.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a team setting with integrity and reliability.
Preferred Experience
- Ability to speak Spanish, Mandarin, or French.
- Exposure to proposal management platforms or CRM systems.
- Experience in healthcare, benefits, or technology-related industries.
- Familiarity with APMP methods and practices.
- Skills in graphic design or data visualisation.
- Experience managing formal colour review cycles.
