Role overview
The Senior Project Manager will support a range of project management engagements, working alongside consultants and client stakeholders to deliver projects from planning through to completion, on budget and to a high standard.
The role is varied and may include contributing to tender responses and sales proposals, improving practice intellectual property, mentoring junior team members, and leading project management engagements with clients. A strong leadership style and growth mindset are important for success in this role.
Key responsibilities
- Create detailed, practical, and transparent project plans and supporting documentation that align with the statement of work, budget, and delivery schedule.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to secure approval of technical and commercial project plans, including contracts, risk escalations, and other sign-off requirements.
- Partner with the Lead Consultant and the wider PMO team to support project delivery.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Manage resources efficiently through prioritisation, delegation, and mentoring.
- Organise, coordinate, and oversee the project delivery team.
- Track, record, and verify compliance requirements, including quantity-related compliance.
- Hold weekly project review meetings with Lead Consultants and the workforce manager, including timesheet and booking reconciliations, delivery status checks, and escalation of concerns where needed.
- Monitor and control project budget and scope.
- Keep internal systems up to date and maintain processes and guidance for end-of-month reporting and related activities.
Experience and skills required
- At least 6 years of experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, ideally with consulting experience delivering Microsoft 365 or SaaS-based solutions.
- Hands-on experience with both Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches.
- Strong capability in resource planning, prioritisation, delegation, and mentoring.
- Well-developed stakeholder management and relationship-building ability.
- Comfort working independently as well as within a team.
- Self-driven, motivated, and focused on achieving professional success in a consulting setting.
- Ability to manage workload and deadlines effectively.
- Project management certifications are preferred, though not mandatory.
