ServiceNow Platform Architect

Role overview

Aptiv is expanding its digital transformation by working with ServiceNow to combine edge-to-cloud intelligence with modern automation. The goal is to improve operational resilience, speed up decision-making, and build a more scalable enterprise operating model. In this role, you will help shape the future of the ServiceNow ecosystem by defining architecture, setting governance standards, and designing high-performing solutions that support business outcomes across the organization.

The position focuses on owning the platform’s enterprise direction, aligning it with strategic priorities, and working closely with senior stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners to deliver secure and scalable capabilities.

Platform strategy and architecture

• Set the architecture direction and roadmap for ServiceNow in line with enterprise goals.
• Establish platform governance, standards, and recommended practices, and ensure they are followed.
• Develop and maintain technical design documents, architecture visuals, and platform standard references.

Solution design and delivery

• Lead the design and rollout of ServiceNow capabilities across ITSM, ITOM, CSM, HAM, SAM, CMDB, Discovery, SPM, and GenAI / Now Assist.
• Build scalable solutions using Flow Designer, Workflow Data Fabric, APIs, MID servers, and custom applications.
• Oversee platform upgrades, patching, cloning activities, and environment planning across Dev, Test, Sandbox, and Prod.

Integration and data management

• Shape integration strategy with enterprise tools and platforms such as Entra ID, Azure, AWS, Zabbix, Tanium, Cisco ISE, Salesforce, and Microsoft 365.
• Maintain strong CMDB health, data integrity, and reconciliation approaches.
• Monitor and optimize license consumption and overall platform spend.

Governance, compliance, and operating model

• Work with security and infrastructure teams to support compliance and reduce risk.
• Help design and implement a platform operating model that drives the intended business results and encourages adoption.

Leadership and mentoring

• Provide technical direction and coaching to developers and administrators.
• Advise teams on configuration and coding standards, prototyping approaches, and faster delivery cycles.

Background required

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a similar field, along with at least 8 years of hands-on ServiceNow experience. ServiceNow certifications CSA and CAD are required, while CTA or CIS are preferred.

Strong practical knowledge of ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, HAM, SAM, and CSM is essential. The role also requires a solid grasp of ServiceNow architecture patterns, performance tuning, enterprise integrations, and data synchronization. Experience with multi-instance strategies and complex platform migrations such as clones, splits, and consolidations is important.

Exposure to GenAI and automation features such as Now Assist, Virtual Agent, NLU, and AI Search is preferred, along with cloud architecture knowledge in Azure or AWS. Candidates should also bring performance analytics and reporting experience, familiarity with large transformation initiatives like M&A, carve-outs, and global rollouts, and working knowledge of Agile, SAFe, and DevOps approaches.
