Structural Engineer Level II

About the role

This position sits within a global professional services organization focused on energy, chemicals, and resources. The team partners with clients to deliver projects and create long-term value across the full life cycle of assets, while supporting the transition toward more sustainable energy solutions and continuing to meet current energy, chemical, and resource needs.

What you'll do

• Work in line with accepted engineering and design practices, relevant regulations, and client requirements.
• Help standardize equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
• Apply technical knowledge, legal requirements, and client specifications where appropriate and permitted.
• Use local and global standards to support strong technical output.
• Support checking, peer review, and the inclusion of review comments and findings.
• Apply recognized engineering methods for offshore structural design work.
• Prepare design specifications for offshore structural scope.
• Develop detailed designs, drawings, specifications, data sheets, calculations, and reports, and complete the required checking process.
• Keep design records accurate and up to date throughout the design phase.
• Review designs to confirm that end-user needs are properly addressed.
• Carry out studies and analyses, then recommend suitable actions.
• Spot opportunities to solve issues by applying engineering expertise.
• Recognize professional risks, statutory obligations, and liabilities.
• Ensure all supporting design documentation is accurate, concise, complete, and clear.
• Prepare material take-offs and bills of quantities.
• Be available for offshore site surveys.
• Deliver discipline-specific engineering services, including scope change identification and reporting, participation in studies and analyses, and support with detailed design deliverables.

• Operate within the organization’s quality assurance systems and procedures.
• Take responsibility for personal safety and follow occupational health and safety requirements.
• Apply HSE principles during the design process, with a strong focus on process safety and best practice.

Education and professional requirements

• Hold a full-time Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is mandatory; candidates without it must be willing to obtain it during the probation period.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status, or active progress toward it, will be considered an advantage.

Experience and technical background

• Have structural engineering experience in oil and gas offshore projects.
• Bring offshore structural engineering experience, including work in multidisciplinary project environments and teams.
• Possess solid discipline design and engineering knowledge across multiple areas.
• Experience with marine and port infrastructure such as quay walls, jetties, dolphins, and pavements is preferred.

Software and tools

• Hands-on experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, AutoCAD, and related tools.
