Role overview
Williams Trade Supplies Ltd is hiring a Supply Chain Analyst to join its supply chain team in Fareham. The business is an independent trade-only plumbing and heating merchant and has been recognised among the “Top 100 Best Companies to Work For” for five consecutive years. The main purpose of the role is to make sure customers receive the right products on time while stock is managed efficiently. You will collaborate with colleagues across the business and help improve planning, forecasting and supply chain performance.
This position is based at Williams Central Support Offices, Fareham, PO16 8XB. The working pattern is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times between 08:00 and 17:00. Optional work-from-home Fridays are available.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is £40,000 to £46,000 per year, depending on experience.
Key duties
- Keep products available for customers across several sites and sales channels.
- Maintain stock at the most effective levels.
- Work with teams across the organisation to align on supply chain objectives.
- Partner with Commercial, Sales, Warehousing and Branch teams to support business targets.
- Provide clear reports on stock performance and KPI trends.
- Review data to spot patterns, issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Support ongoing improvements across supply chain operations.
- Help strengthen forecasting and planning processes.
- Track inventory levels and reduce surplus or slow-selling stock.
- Work with suppliers to keep service levels strong, including attending site visits when needed.
What the company is looking for
The ideal candidate will have supply chain experience in a retail or commercial environment, along with strong confidence working with data and forecasting tools. Advanced Excel skills are important for this role.
You should also be commercially aware, able to optimise product ranges to support sales, and comfortable challenging existing ways of working when there is a better solution. A proactive, practical approach and a continuous improvement mindset are both important.
Strong communication, relationship-building skills, analytical thinking and excellent attention to detail are also essential.
