Technical Business Analyst – Telecom

Role Overview

This contract opportunity is for a Technical Business Analyst with deep telecom and networking experience. The role focuses on turning business needs into practical technical outcomes and helping deliver network and telecom initiatives effectively.

The position is based in Sydney or Melbourne, Australia, and is designed for someone who can work closely with business stakeholders, engineers, and delivery teams across the full lifecycle of telecom-related work.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, interpret, and record both business and technical requirements for telecom initiatives.
• Partner with stakeholders, network engineers, and delivery teams to convert business objectives into clear functional and technical specifications.
• Contribute to the planning, design, and rollout of network solutions within frameworks such as FTTP, FTTN, and HFC.
• Carry out impact assessments and gap analysis, and assist with shaping solution designs.
• Check system behaviour, support SIT and UAT activities, and maintain traceability of requirements through delivery.
• Work with teams to investigate and resolve telecom and network-related issues.

Required Experience and Skills

• Proven background as a Technical Business Analyst within the telecom sector.
• Practical understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP, routing, switching, and WAN/LAN.
• Direct experience working with telecom technologies and architecture is essential.
• Working knowledge of OSS/BSS platforms and telecom process flows.
• Strong ability to gather requirements, create documentation, and communicate with a range of stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Australian telecom standards and NBN lifecycle processes.
• Networking certification such as CCNA, CCNP, or an equivalent credential.
