Role Overview

The Technical Writer will join the Engineering team in Corvallis, Oregon, and act as the link between advanced engineering work and the people who use the products. Job Summary

This position is responsible for building, updating, and refining documentation for OptiTrack products as well as internal processes. Core Duties

  • Own the documentation function for OptiTrack products as the main technical writer.
  • Develop and improve customer documentation such as user manuals, knowledge base content, release notes, installation instructions, troubleshooting guides, SDK/API references, and developer-facing materials.
  • Build and maintain internal resources including support workflows, engineering process documents, training materials, and knowledge repositories.
  • Partner with engineering and support teams to document new products, features, workflows, and recommended practices.
  • Collect technical input from subject matter experts and convert complex ideas into concise, understandable writing.
  • Manage documentation systems and workflows using tools like GitBook, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Audit existing documentation and revise it for correctness, consistency, and alignment with product updates.
  • Make sure all documentation follows internal security and data privacy requirements.
  • Help shape documentation standards, writing style guidance, and knowledge management methods.
  • Produce visual support materials such as screenshots, diagrams, tutorials, and instructional videos when needed.

Experience and Qualifications
