It supports fast-growing AI and machine learning startups in the United States, ranging from seed-funded businesses to Series A companies backed by leading tech investors. With a strong market reputation, a steady stream of inbound interest, and a focus on quality, the business is expanding its candidate delivery team with experienced recruitment professionals based in South Africa.
Role overview
In this position, you will drive candidate delivery for AI and ML hiring across the US market. The role runs on South African working hours that align with US Eastern Time, roughly 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM SAST. You will manage the full candidate path from sourcing through to the first interview and will support a New York-based client-facing team.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, attract, and engage strong AI and machine learning talent across the US using LinkedIn Recruiter, Atlas CRM, JuiceBox, and tailored outreach.
- Run detailed candidate screening calls with structured formats to evaluate technical capability, market suitability, and fit for the role.
- Keep candidate pipelines active and organized while maintaining consistent communication and relationships with prospects.
- Align pre-screened candidates with active vacancies and submit strong profiles to the assigned account manager.
- Refresh existing records in the Atlas database and add new prospects to keep the talent pool continuously growing.
- Join client briefing discussions and use AI-enabled tools such as transcripts and large language models to guide sourcing plans.
- Share ideas that strengthen sourcing processes and improve how candidates are engaged.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant has solid experience in a 360-degree or delivery-led recruitment position, preferably in technology, AI, data, or engineering. You should already have experience hiring for the US market and understand both the working culture and the legal specifics, such as not asking about salary history in New York. Strong sourcing ability on LinkedIn Recruiter is essential, and familiarity with JuiceBox or a similar platform is a strong advantage. The role also calls for excellent written and spoken English, confidence when speaking with senior technical professionals, and a self-driven approach to managing time and priorities. Applicants must be comfortable working South African hours that overlap with the US day, and should be ambitious, commercially minded, and motivated by earning potential.
Compensation
The base salary is between R30,000 and R46,500. Commission is paid per placement and depends on the client fee size: $750 for fees under $50,000, $1,000 for fees between $50,000 and $99,000, and $1,500 for fees of $100,000 or more.
