About the role
As a Train Cleaner, you will help keep trains clean, hygienic, and presentable so that passengers and staff have a safe and comfortable environment. The role is important for the upkeep of train interiors and for maintaining a positive customer experience.
Key duties
- Carry out everyday cleaning work, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming the train interior.
- Check for damage, graffiti, or vandalism and report issues to the relevant team or authority quickly.
- Keep track of cleaning materials and restock supplies when needed so daily tasks can be completed without interruption.
- Work in line with safety rules and site procedures at all times.
- Handle and dispose of cleaning chemicals and waste materials according to the required process.
Candidate requirements
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
- Previous cleaning experience would be beneficial.
- Good communication skills are required.
- Availability for night shifts and weekend shifts is necessary.
Additional information
- A medical assessment must be passed before the role begins.
- A drug and alcohol screening test is also required prior to start.
- You will need to complete Local Track Safety Awareness (LTSA) training.
