Famehouse, a UMG division based in Philadelphia, specializes in direct-to-consumer solutions for music brands. The team supports eCommerce for UMG labels, artists, and Bravado, as well as a curated group of external clients. Its work spans strategy, creative, storefront merchandising, fulfillment, customer service, technology, and related services that help artists grow their owned businesses.
Role Overview
The UI/UX Designer will shape and improve online stores for artists and labels, creating digital shopping experiences that are visually compelling, easy to use, and built to convert. This role blends design craft, fan-first thinking, and e-commerce strategy to create storefronts that reflect music culture and brand identity while delivering strong performance.
You will collaborate with design and motion teams, developers, merchandisers, and back-end systems teams to build seamless fan experiences and improve the way customers discover, engage with, and purchase from artist stores.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and refine e-commerce experiences such as landing pages, product detail pages, checkout journeys, and campaign microsites that express artist brands effectively.
- Clearly communicate design ideas and confidently explain the reasoning behind interface and experience decisions.
- Develop user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and polished visual designs that combine storytelling, usability, and conversion goals.
- Partner with developers, merchandisers, and marketing teams to ensure accurate implementation and a smooth customer experience from start to finish.
- Review analytics, A/B test results, and fan input to improve store performance over time.
- Convert brand and album visuals into connected digital experiences that align with campaign creative direction.
- Promote strong UX standards, accessibility, and responsive design across all digital touchpoints.
- Work directly with developers to confirm design feasibility and support successful execution.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably within e-commerce, entertainment, or consumer brands.
- A strong portfolio showing responsive design, visual systems, and effective problem-solving in UX.
- Advanced skills in Figma or similar prototyping tools, along with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Working knowledge of Shopify or comparable direct-to-consumer e-commerce platforms.
- Understanding of digital merchandising, conversion optimization, and checkout flow best practices.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with campaign-based deadlines and changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating designs for music artists, record labels, or fan-centric digital products.
- Familiarity with HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Genuine interest in music, culture, and innovation.
