Accommodation Assistant

Role overview

Hodson Bay Hotel is inviting applications for an Accommodation Assistant to become part of its housekeeping team in Athlone and Bigmeadow, County Westmeath, Ireland. This position is suited to someone who can work flexibly across Monday to Sunday and who takes pride in maintaining excellent cleanliness and guest comfort standards.

Key duties

• Work in line with the accommodation department’s service standards and operating procedures.
• Take part in training sessions provided by the department.
• Contribute as a reliable member of the accommodation team.
• Clean guest rooms and bathrooms to a high standard.
• Keep public areas clean and well presented.
• Carry out scheduled deep-cleaning tasks.
• Replenish and organise the housekeeping trolley each day.
• Respond to guest requests quickly and efficiently.
• Complete all required checklists accurately and to a high standard.

Candidate profile

The hotel is looking for someone with hotel cleaning or housekeeping experience, although this is preferred rather than mandatory. The right person should enjoy team-based work, present themselves professionally, and bring energy, strong customer focus, and good communication skills. The role also requires someone who can stay effective when working under pressure.

Working pattern and employment details

This is a full-time, onsite role with a 39-hour working week. Candidates should be fully available from Monday through Sunday.
