Role Overview

This US remote role reports to the SVP of Sales and focuses on managing assigned customer accounts within the life sciences sector. The Account Manager will deepen relationships with key stakeholders, help clients reach their business goals, and find ways to increase Velsera’s value across the account base. The position is central to customer satisfaction, renewals, account expansion, and long-term strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will own strategic account management across your portfolio and work closely with internal and external partners to support customer outcomes and business growth.

  • Lead renewal conversations and assist with contract negotiations to secure continued business.

  • Work in close coordination with Customer Success, Professional Services, Product, Support, and Sales teams to deliver a smooth customer experience.
  • Organize recurring business reviews and executive meetings to highlight value delivered, outcomes achieved, and future opportunities.
  • Keep account activity, planning, forecasting, renewals, and expansion pipelines current and well documented.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Velsera’s product set, genomics, bioinformatics analysis, and the scientific direction relevant to customers.
  • Prepare and present presentations, proposals, strategic recommendations, and business review materials tailored to customer needs.
  • Track industry developments and competitor moves to identify ways to strengthen Velsera’s position in customer accounts.
  • Maintain strategic plans for each assigned account and share regular updates, forecasts, and growth opportunities with senior leadership.
  • Support adoption efforts and bring customer feedback and requirements back into the organization.
  • Represent Velsera at industry conferences and meetings when needed.
  • Be willing to travel up to 30% as required.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in account management or adjacent commercial roles in SaaS, healthcare, life sciences, genetics, or genomics, along with the ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders and technical subject matter.

  • At least 5 years of experience in Account Management, Customer Success, Sales, or Business Development within SaaS, healthcare, life sciences, genetics, or genomics.
  • Direct experience managing strategic relationships in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO environments.
  • Demonstrated success in retaining customers, securing renewals, and expanding revenue from existing accounts.
  • Working knowledge of customer success and account development methods; experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • BS degree in Genetics, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Comfort networking across all organizational levels and building rapport with senior healthcare leaders.
  • Ability to explain technical or scientific topics clearly and effectively.
