About the role
As an Assistant Manager, you will work alongside a Relationship Manager to support an Agribusiness customer portfolio. The role offers a chance to deepen your understanding of a specialist industry while contributing to growth through new business acquisition, increased share of wallet, and referrals. You will also use data and improved systems to better understand customer needs and respond proactively.
This position is a permanent, full-time role based at 8 Chapman Road, Geraldton WA 6530, with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week.
The role can open pathways into commercial banking and other areas across ANZ, with access to learning opportunities and leadership support to help you build the skills and accreditation needed for future growth.
Key responsibilities
- Work with the Relationship Manager to manage a customer portfolio effectively.
- Build and maintain a strong understanding of each customer’s business and financial requirements.
- Provide customer-focused support by recommending suitable products and services that align with business needs.
- Handle account maintenance needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Keep the portfolio compliant with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Oversee workflow management across compliance tasks and customer fulfilment processes.
- Partner with product specialists and other internal stakeholders to meet customer requirements.
What you’ll bring
- Previous experience in frontline commercial banking and commercial lending.
- Ability to support strong client relationships by resolving service queries and minor issues.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing agreements and contracts.
- Ability to assess creditworthiness using both qualitative and quantitative factors, including the 5Cs of credit.
- Capability to juggle multiple tasks while tracking customer documents, transactions, and internal communication.
- Understanding of risk management concepts, including credit risk, risk, and market risk.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as KYC and AML.
- Exposure to, or interest in, the agricultural sector.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Economics, Accounting, or Ag Science/Economics are preferred.
