Assistant Operations Manager - LC

Role overview

This position supports the operations of the laundry centre in Dubai and focuses on keeping production running efficiently, safely, and in line with customer expectations. The role is responsible for improving processes, guiding frontline leaders, and helping maintain cost control across the laundering value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Keep SOPs current by reviewing and revising them regularly so they stay aligned with company safety rules, legal requirements, and customer needs.
• Deliver on-the-job coaching, induction support, and probation follow-up so team members understand procedures and can perform effectively.
• Track individual and team performance, manage misconduct or weak performance issues, and support accurate appraisals through proper evaluations.
• Supervise and develop Line Supervisors and Team Leaders so daily production goals are met and team engagement remains high.
• Make sure production work is carried out according to SOPs and that output quality is maintained throughout the laundering process.
• Support budgeting activities and help allocate manpower in a way that controls costs while staying within budget limits.
• Spot process bottlenecks and inefficiencies, then introduce practical improvements that strengthen productivity and reduce waste.
• Review production data, maintenance updates, and breakdown reports, then turn the findings into recommendations for operational improvement.
• Work with the Operations Manager to handle customer engagement, address concerns, and close out non-conformance reports effectively.
• Coordinate with chemical vendors to secure timely deliveries, maintain stock availability, update washing programs, and ensure service reports are submitted on time.

Qualifications and experience

A bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or a closely related discipline is required. Professional development or certification in laundry operations is preferred. The role calls for at least 5 years of supervisory experience in laundry or manufacturing environments.

Skills and capabilities

The ideal candidate should bring strong leadership, team coordination, analytical thinking, reporting capability, process improvement knowledge, effective communication, stakeholder handling, and the ability to stay organized in a demanding, fast-moving setting. Working knowledge of health and safety standards is also important.
