The role also includes occasional delivery of training, support for clients, and technical assistance to sales and operations colleagues.
This is a full-time, onsite/field-based position covering the UK and mainland Europe, with travel required. The preferred home base is within East Midlands, West Midlands, London, South East, or South West regions, including Bristol, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, and Dorset.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct accredited and non-accredited audits against food safety schemes such as BRCGS and FSSC 22000.
- Prepare clear audit reports and oversee the closure of corrective actions while meeting Certification Programme Owner KPI targets.
- Take part in internal audits and support continuous improvement within the quality management system.
- Deliver training to internal teams, customers, and other stakeholders when required.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to ensure technical accuracy and a strong customer experience.
- Contribute to standard-setting committees and manage complaints related to certification activities.
- Travel regularly across the UK and Europe, with the possibility of occasional weekend work.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a closely related subject, along with at least five years of experience in the food industry, including technical or quality-focused roles. HACCP and Lead Auditor certifications are required. Applicants should have completed at least 10 audits totaling 15 or more audit days, including at least 5 BRCGS Food audits. Strong communication, planning, ethics, and self-motivation are essential. Experience with a broad range of product categories is also important.
Additional Experience Preferred
It would be an advantage to have worked with other schemes such as IFS, McDonald’s SQMS, Non-GMO, or BRCGS Agents & Brokers. Background in project management or training delivery is also desirable.
Why This Role
You will be joining a global organisation recognised for food safety certification, with a collaborative environment that supports quality, technical excellence, and professional development.
