About the role
Genesis is seeking a Billing Specialist to support accurate and efficient billing for enterprise customers in Auckland. What you will be doing
In this role, you will oversee billing activity from start to finish, work across multiple teams to fix billing issues, keep account information correct, and help improve billing processes so customers receive timely and accurate outcomes.
- Handle the full billing workflow, including generating invoices, preparing accounts, and addressing overdue or unresolved bills.
- Investigate billing mismatches and work with internal stakeholders such as Corporate, Metering and Customer Service to settle issues.
- Make sure problematic bills are corrected, completed and sent to customers without delay.
- Keep billing records and account status information accurate and up to date.
- Track the billing cycle and look for ways to improve speed and precision.
- Assist with process improvements that reduce billing delays and strengthen cash flow.
What you will bring
You should be highly organised, comfortable working with data and systems, and able to stay focused on accuracy while meeting deadlines. The role suits someone who enjoys solving problems, taking responsibility, and working well with others.
- Proven ability to use problem-solving skills to resolve customer or billing-related matters.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform well under deadline pressure.
- Comfort following established processes while using analytical thinking to resolve issues.
- Background in customer service or administration, preferably in a billing or operations setting.
- Advanced Excel and SharePoint capability.
- Basic SQL knowledge is an advantage, though not required.
