Overview
WWT Slimbridge Centre in South-West England is hiring a part-time Cleaner to support the visitor centre and holiday accommodation. This is a paid, permanent position with a focus on keeping spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for guests and colleagues.
Role summary
You will be part of the cleaning team, carrying out high-quality cleaning and janitorial duties across accommodation and public areas. The work calls for someone who is dependable, proactive, comfortable working on their own and with others, and able to maintain excellent presentation standards.
Key duties
The role involves maintaining cleanliness throughout the centre, including guest accommodation and shared visitor spaces. Tasks include preparing rooms to a high standard, making beds, cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, replenishing supplies, dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, and removing waste. You’ll also be expected to follow health and safety procedures and help create a positive visitor experience.
Working pattern
This is a part-time role of 22.5 hours per week, worked over 4 days in 7. The rota includes weekends and bank holidays.
About you
WWT is seeking someone with previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping, good manual handling awareness, a strong eye for detail, and high standards of cleanliness and presentation. You should also have solid customer service skills, the ability to handle issues independently, and a willingness to work varied shifts.
Compensation and benefits
The salary is £14,991 per year, pro rata, based on a full-time equivalent of £24,985.
