The New Angel Hotel in Whitby is hiring a Cleaner to keep the pub spotless and welcoming throughout the day. The main goal of the role is to maintain a high standard of cleanliness across all customer-facing and staff areas so guests have a better experience.

What you will do

You will be responsible for keeping every part of the pub clean and presentable, following the business’s cleaning standards and procedures.

• Clean customer areas, toilets, the bar, kitchen, staff spaces, and outdoor areas.
• Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks in line with standard operating procedures.
• Use cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly.
• Keep an eye on cleaning stock and let the manager know when supplies need replenishing.
• Report maintenance problems and pest-control concerns to the manager on duty.
• Interact politely with guests by greeting them and saying goodbye and thank you.
• Take part in induction, job-specific, and refresher training, and support ongoing improvement.

Working pattern

The pubs open early and close late, so shifts can include mornings, evenings, weekends, and late finishes. The role is scheduled for 10 hours per week.

• Monday: 6:00 to 8:00
• Tuesday: 6:00 to 8:00
• Wednesday: 04:00 to 8:00
• Thursday: 04:00 to 8:00
• Friday: 6:00 to 8:00
• Saturday: 6:00 to 8:00
• Sunday: 04:00 to 8:00

Pay and benefits

The pay for this role is £12.91 per hour. You’ll also receive a range of workplace benefits and rewards.
