Nando’s PERi-PERi in Gainesville, VA is hiring for a Cleaner/Dishwasher role in a lively, supportive restaurant environment. What the role involves

In this position, you will help keep the restaurant running smoothly by ensuring dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and related items are thoroughly cleaned and ready for service. You will also help maintain a tidy, organized dish area, dishwashing equipment, and storage spaces. As needed, you may support wider restaurant cleaning tasks, assist with putting away deliveries, help with chicken prep, and carry out basic food preparation duties.

Minimum expectations

Candidates should be comfortable following instructions, working well with others, and staying composed under pressure. A strong focus on service quality is important, along with a working understanding of food and beverage standards. Knowledge of sanitation, safety, and food handling practices is required, and you must be able to communicate professionally in basic English.

Physical demands

This job involves active, hands-on work throughout the shift. You should be able to lift up to 15 lbs independently for extended periods, stand or walk for 8–10 hours a day, carry dishes and food items, climb stairs, and perform movements such as reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting overhead. The role may also require climbing stairs in multi-level restaurant locations.
