Role Overview

The Hershey Company is hiring a Data Analyst in Dallas, TX to develop analytics solutions that inform product and business decisions. The position focuses on transforming data in Databricks, creating interactive Power BI dashboards, helping shape the semantic layer for standardized metrics, and improving the reliability of data pipelines. You will work closely with product, engineering, finance, and go-to-market stakeholders to provide self-service reporting, surface insights from SaaS performance data, and maintain confidence in the reporting layer.

Core Responsibilities

• Use Databricks to write, tune, and run SQL and Python queries for extracting, transforming, and analyzing large product and business datasets.
• Create, update, and manage Power BI dashboards and reports that track SaaS metrics such as ARR, churn, NRR, and product adoption for different teams.
• Contribute to the enterprise semantic layer so metric definitions, business rules, and governed access remain consistent across reporting tools.
• Work with product, engineering, finance, and GTM partners to define analytical needs, complete ad hoc analyses, and turn findings into clear recommendations.
• Track data freshness and accuracy, help investigate pipeline problems with data engineering, and keep reporting surfaces aligned with trusted governed data.

Key Deliverables

• Production-ready Power BI dashboards and reports covering SaaS KPIs such as ARR, churn, NRR, and feature adoption, with clear data sources and refresh timing documented.
• Well-documented Databricks notebooks and queries used for recurring analysis, cohort studies, and one-off deep dives for product and GTM teams.
• Validated metric definitions, dimension models, and business logic updates for the shared semantic layer to support consistent self-service analytics.

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience with Databricks, including Spark SQL, notebooks, and Delta Lake, along with advanced SQL for transformation, analysis, and pipeline support.
• Working knowledge of Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and service administration, to build dashboards and support self-service reporting.
• Understanding of semantic layer concepts, dimensional modeling, and metric frameworks to maintain governed definitions across tools.
• Ability to explain complex analytical findings in a clear, stakeholder-friendly way using strong narratives and visualizations.
• Comfort presenting to product, engineering, and business audiences while collaborating across functions to scope and deliver analytics work.
• Exposure to AI/BI features such as Databricks AI/BI dashboards or Genie spaces is considered an advantage.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline.
• 2 to 4 years of professional experience in a data analyst or analytics engineering role, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and Power BI is required.
• Experience with semantic layer tools, AI/BI enablement features, or data governance frameworks is preferred.
