Role overview

This position is for a Database Administrator with strong experience in Azure and SQL. The role is based in Gurgaon, with also mentioned locations in Bangalore and Hyderabad. It calls for 6 to 9 years of experience and involves managing production database environments across Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and AWS MySQL.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain production SQL Server setups in Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and AWS MySQL environments.
• Write, review, and improve T-SQL queries, stored procedures, DML logic, and schema updates.
• Analyze execution plans and apply indexing, statistics, and operator-level diagnostics to improve query performance.
• Work with the lead architect to assess and implement production-impacting technical decisions.
• Build a strong working understanding of production data models, data movement, and overall system design.
• Assist Entity Framework-based applications by reviewing generated SQL and suggesting performance improvements.
• Use AI-powered tools to improve database operations, monitoring, and automation.
• Spot and address bottlenecks, risks, and inefficiencies before they affect production stability.

Required qualifications

• At least 5 years of direct Database Administrator experience, including solid hands-on work with SQL Server.
• Practical experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• Exposure to cloud-based relational databases such as AWS MySQL.
• Strong command of T-SQL, including DDL, DML, stored procedures, and query tuning.
• Ability to read execution plans and perform detailed operator-level query analysis.
• Familiarity with Entity Framework and the SQL it generates.
• Awareness of AI tools and how they can support database administration and automation.
