Digital Content Specialist

Role overview

NZ Safety Blackwoods is looking for a Digital Content Specialist to help accelerate growth by producing engaging, targeted content across its website and social channels. The role combines social media planning with search-friendly web content to support a smooth customer experience and improve conversions.

You will play a key part in strengthening the brand’s market presence through content decisions shaped by insight. The role involves managing social publishing schedules, improving category and brand pages, and working with internal specialists and outside partners to create multimedia assets. Support is available from subject matter experts where needed, so you can build on the knowledge already in the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, write, and publish engaging material for social media, blogs, websites, and email marketing.
• Keep up with new social content formats, search optimisation practices, AI-powered tools, and broader content innovation.
• Take ownership of important web content areas, including landing pages, category pages, and editorial pieces, with a focus on consistency and SEO results.
• Build and maintain a social content calendar that aligns with brand goals, campaigns, and key cultural moments.
• Support audience expansion and interaction through creative campaigns designed to grow subscribers and generate leads.
• Work with internal stakeholders and external partners to create video, visual, and graphic content.
• Track content performance and use data-driven insights to improve future plans and outcomes.
• Continuously bring in new formats, tools, and trends to keep content plans current and effective.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant will have hands-on experience in digital content or a similar discipline, along with excellent writing and editing ability. A working knowledge of content management systems is important, as is familiarity with social platforms and audience engagement approaches.

You should be comfortable using Adobe Creative Suite and video editing software, able to juggle several projects at once, work independently, meet deadlines, and keep a sharp eye for detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential, along with a genuine interest in creating fresh and effective digital content. A qualification in marketing, communications, or a related area is preferred, though not mandatory.
