İş tanımı
About the role
As a Dispenser in a Boots store, you will play an important part in the pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare colleagues to deliver pharmacy and healthcare services safely and efficiently.
Based in the store’s healthcare department, you will spend your day building strong patient relationships, greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, supporting the safe sale of medicines, and offering healthcare guidance so people can make informed choices about their health and wellbeing.
This position is based in-store in the UK. Remote candidates will not be considered. Applications from outside the UK will only move forward if the relevant UK qualifications and right to work can be confirmed and evidenced.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescriptions while making sure medicines are supplied safely, including ordering items, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
- Work alongside other healthcare professionals in the store to help deliver pharmacy services.
- Offer patients advice and support on medicines, and escalate queries to the Pharmacist when needed.
- Follow standard operating procedures to ensure prescriptions are dispensed legally and safely.
- Stay current with new in-store innovations and follow operational processes.
- Help patients manage repeat prescriptions and use medicines effectively to improve adherence and reduce waste.
Development and training
You will work with changing in-store technology and new systems that are designed to improve dispensing processes, strengthen patient safety, and free up more time to spend with patients. Regular updates and training will help you grow your healthcare knowledge, and there are career pathways available, including progression to Pharmacy Technician or opportunities within the store leadership team.
Pay and benefits
The hourly pay for this role is £13.92, rising up to £16.64 in selected London locations.
- Discretionary Christmas gift payment.
- Generous employee discount.
- Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave pay, plus a gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a child.
- Flexible benefits scheme.
- Access to free 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, the employee assistance programme.
Additional benefits are available and can be tailored to suit different needs. Salary estimates shown on third-party websites are not provided or endorsed by Boots and may be inaccurate.
Who can apply
You must already have the Pharmacy Advisor qualification at NVQ2 level, or an equivalent qualification, or you should currently be working toward it and have completed the first year of an MPharm degree. You also need a current and valid UK right to work. This role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
Experience in community pharmacy would be an advantage.
